General Labourer - 6 to 8 Month Contract

Responsibilities​

  • Operate equipment such as jack hammer and concrete cutter.

  • Assist in various construction tasks as needed, including excavation, grading, and moving materials.

  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment.

  • Coordinate with site supervisors and other team members to complete projects on schedule.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct site preparation, excavation, grading, and backfilling.

  • Troubleshoot and report any equipment issues to the maintenance team.

  • Maintain accurate logs and records of work performed. 

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Must pass drug and alcohol testing.

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

  • Valid First aid and AED certification is an asset.

  • Ground Disturbance certification is an asset.

  • Must have CSA approved steel toed boots.

  • Ability to adhere to GC Construction Safety Protocols, and Client protocols.

  • Knowledge of construction site safety practices.

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and on different types of terrain.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  •  Takes pride in doing great work.

  •  Must be able to work out of town.

 

Compensation

We offer a competitive compensation package.Pay: $18 - $22 per hour

Powerline Technician Apprentice
 

Qualifications
Journeyman Power Line Technician/Lineman Apprentice, MUST BE AT LEAST ALEVEL 1.
This job is for work in Saskatchewan. MUST BE AT LEAST A LEVEL 1


Responsibilities

  • Maintain personal and group safety at all times

  •  Be a positive team member through open communication with the crew and active participation in crew tasks

  • Install, repair, troubleshoot and maintain electrical distribution and transmission systems including overhead and underground power lines and cables, insulators, conductors, lightning arrestors, switches, transformers and other associated equipment

  • Perform line maintenance in a safe and efficient manner utilizing de- energized, rubber glove, live line hot stick or live line bare hand techniques

  • Erect and maintain steel, wood or concrete poles, towers and guy wires 

  • Read and interpret prints, maps, drawings and other trade documents

  • Inspect and test overhead and underground power lines, cables and auxiliary equipment using electrical test equipment

  • Safely operate heavy duty utility equipment including Radial Boom Derricks (R.B.D), bucket trucks, and related equipment as required

  • Maintain good public relations with persons inside and outside the company

  • Respond to unscheduled outages as the result of weather, component failures, etc.

  • Respond to on-call duties when required, with a maximum of 1-hour response time​

 

Other​​

  • A valid Class 5 Drivers Licence (or better).

  • Familiarity with SaskPower’s Distribution Construction Standards, Saskpower Transmission Construction Standards and experience with the construction and operating practices and techniques associated with these standards.

  • Familiarity with SaskPower’s underground, overhead, Civil, and/or Duct Bank electrical utility construction practices and line locating techniques

  • The Field Consultant should be familiar with all SaskPower Safety Standards and the SaskPower Safety Rulebook.

  • The applicant will be familiar with The Saskatchewan Employment Act and all regulations issued thereunder including The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, 1996.

Skid Steer/Excavator Operator

Position
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Civil Equipment Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will operate various types of machinery, including excavators and skid steers to assist in the construction and maintenance of large-scale civil projects. Emphasis is placed on superior operating skill where errors in judgement may be costly.


Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, maps, and project plans to ensure accurate execution of tasks.

  •  Coordinate with site supervisors and other team members to complete projects on schedule.

  •  Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements.

  • Conduct site preparation, excavation, grading, and backfilling.

  • Troubleshoot and report any equipment issues to the maintenance team.

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

  • Must have valid First aid and AED certification.

  • Ability to adhere to GC Construction Safety Protocols, and Client protocols.

  • Certification from a recognized heavy equipment training program is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of construction site safety practices.

  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.

  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and on different types of terrain.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.


Compensation

Site Superintendent

Position
We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Site Superintendent to join our team and oversee the day-to-day operations of our civil construction sites. As a Site Superintendent, you will be responsible for the on-site management of civil construction projects, ensuring that work is completed in accordance with plans, on schedule, and within safety and quality standards. You will supervise the construction team, coordinate with subcontractors, and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise all on-site construction activities, including coordinating daily work schedules, tasks, and assignments.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, building codes, and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor progress to ensure the project stays on schedule and within budget.

  • Supervise and direct subcontractors, labor crews, and vendors to ensure quality work and adherence to specifications.

  • Conduct daily site inspections and provide regular progress reports to the Project Manager.

  • Resolve issues and challenges that arise during the construction process, working closely withthe project team to identify solutions.

  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with the client, project stakeholders, and internal team members.

  • Ensure proper documentation is maintained for project reports, inspections, and safety records.

  • Enforce and maintain a clean, safe work environment, ensuring all workers follow safety procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Superintendent or similar role in construction management

  •  Leadership for Safety Excellence course or equivalent is an asset.

  • Previous electrical substation experience is an asset.

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, safety protocols, and quality control.

  • Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

  •  Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.

  • Proficiency with SiteDocs.

  • First Aid/CPR & AED certified.

  •  Five - seven years of experience in a site management or superintendent role.
